A little Run

A couple of weeks ago I ran a 5k. I ran it with my mother-in-law and my brother-in-law. Let me just say, that I run...A lot. I am kinda into fitness and health at the moment. Eating whole natural foods, very strict diet, lots of gym time and Voalla and I am smaller than when I was in High School, awesome.

The race. Alright, as much as I run I don't "road run" it's very different from my treadmill at my gym watching a movie in a pitch black theater. So, I was slightly nervous but 3 miles no biggie.

I didn't do as bad as I thought, I came in first in my age division in the 20 to 29 yr. olds, not bad. John caught up to me at the end and I sprinted him out (I know he let me beat him) and Kay well she was 20 seconds behind me....She is 62 and was running on an injured leg, she is an animal!

I love being fit. I had my 3 babies so fast that I wasn't even able to work off the baby weight in between each one. My fitness goals have been long and hard. My weight didn't want to come off until I started to completely change my diet. I didn't realize how much food was a focus in my life. "What can I eat", "I'm bored, I'm going to eat", "Treats" on and on. We socialize with food. My nights consisted of my putting the kids to bed and then curling up on the couch with my pre-recorded shows and something delicious and sinful in my bowl. I have had to completely shift my mind set. As hard as it's been (which it has been very very hard) it's been worth the results.

Angie, did you go private on me? I need an invite. I suck at keeping in touch with private blogs, but I've missed you!!! BTW, you always look amazing, I can't tell if you work your butt off or if you are just naturally tiny!

Sarah, you look amazing! I'm trying (sometimes failing) at my first diet ever, and I can do the recommended exercise easily. But the eating, oh man it's rough! I'm like you were, bad night time eater, and all I ever want to eat is treats!! I try and cut out sweets for a few days and then I have a slump and go crazy. My body loses the weight and then I have a bad day and bam, it's back that easy! So so frusterating! Anyways, I'm just venting, but I need to keep you in my head when I get discouraged cause you look awesome!
